Shelburne Museum Goes To The Dogs 2011
Its almost that time of year again. Every year Vermont’s Shelburne Museum, located just outside of Burlington in Shelburne, Vermont, hosts a special day of events devoted to our beloved canine friends. Founded in 1947 by Electra Havemeyer Webb, the Shelburne Museum is a collection of 39 exhibition buildings, many of them historic and relocated from New York and New England. Shelburne Museum is famous for its gorgeous landscape, unique exhibits and breath-taking gardens.
The event takes place on Sunday September 18, 10 am – 5 pm, rain or shine. The annual event benefits local animal rescue groups and humane societies. This years theme is the Wild West. Events include a parade with costume judging, live music, police dog and hunting dog demonstrations, face painting, flying disc dog competitions and more.
